Mežaparks neighbours Ozo Golf Club and Mežaparka Rezidences create a new annual tradition – a golf tournament.
The two largest owners of real estate in Mežaparks, Mežaparka Rezidences and Ozo Golf Club, in cooperation with the high-end real estate agency Baltic Sotheby’s International Realty, is organizing a golf tournament on 14 May – the Mežaparka Rezidences Open – creating the foundation for an annual event for every golf lover and strengthening the traditions of sport and outdoor activities in Riga.
Mežaparka Rezidences Open will begin at 9:00 on 14 May from all holes. Around 100 golf enthusiasts will participate in three handicap groups for men and women to determine longest drive (7th hole), nearest to pin (13th hole), and the best player overall. The winner will be determined by the Stableford scoring system. The top three players in each group will receive valuable prizes.
So the players don’t lose their form and maintain their energy over the 5-hour-long tournament, participants will be able to enjoy a unique Latvian product – a special energy bar Spēkam, with cranberries and black currants, created by Lāči bakery in honour of the Mežaparka Rezidences Open golf tournament.
Normunds Skauģis, owner of Lāči, will personally serve the participants these energy bars and after the tournament, will present a grand cake. He is also willing to share some secret recipes before tee off. “This wonderfully delicious energy snack was created right here in Lāči from Latvian berries with dark chocolate and breadcrumbs. The ingredients of the energy bar are the finest Latvia has to offer and are carefully chosen and combined. Each Lāči product is a unique masterpiece. May each bite give you strength!” wishes the master breadmaker.
At the golf course, the most complicated or highest level of difficulty, the 7th hole, which is named after Mežaparka Rezidences, yet another Mežaparks neighbour, the wine shop Vīna pietura, will offer wine tasting, as well as other beverages and snacks.
Everyone is invited to participate in the Mežaparka Rezidences Open golf tournament, where you will be able to cheer on your favourite player and become acquainted with Mežaparka Rezidences plans, see their vision in a mock up, and possibly, view your future home in one of the city’s greenest and most prestigious and desirable neighbourhoods.
The Mežaparka Rezidences Open golf tournament is part of the Latvia’s Golf Days initiative.

Ozo Golf Club is the first 18-hole golf course in Latvia, with a total drive length of 6400 m. It is surprising in its variety, thanks to designer Rob Swedberg, who was inspired by the mountains of his native Denver (USA) when he created 16 ponds and sand traps along the wide shores of Ķīšezers. In 2005, this sport centre gained national status and became the main centre for golf lessons and training. Ozo Golf Club hosts many national and international golf tournaments.
