The second annual golf tournament Mežaparka Rezidences Open draws 100 participants

Ozo Golf Club hosted the second annual Mežaparka Rezidences Open on Saturday, 20 May. This tradition was initiated by Mežaparks two largest real estate owners – Mežaparka Rezidences and Ozo Golf Club – in cooperation with the premium real estate agency Baltic Sotheby’s International Realty.
One hundred amateur golfers enjoyed spectacular weather and competed in three handicap groups for men and women: longest drive (7th hole), nearest to pin (13th hole), and best overall player using the Stableford scoring system. The top three players in each category received valuable prizes supplied by event partners: interior design company Imagehouse, luxury class shop Plaza, interior design store Alandeko, wine shop Vīna Pietura, and the restaurant M’archers.
As in the debut tournament last year, golfers could boost their resolve with energy bars Spēkam (with black currants and quince) supplied by the bakery Lāči. This is a unique product in Latvia that was first created in honour of last year’s Mežaparka Rezidences Open tournament. The energy bars contain premium ingredients from Latvia’s natural bounty.
In keeping with tradition, at the first, most difficult challenge – the 7th hole, named in honour of Mežaparka Rezidences – our neighbours, wine shop Vīna pietura, offered refreshments as well as wine tasting.
During the closing ceremonies of the tournament, Mežaparka Rezidences sales manager Oksana Dmitrijeva thanked the participating golfers: “We hope that this this tournament will become the leading season opener and that the waiting list to participate will grow even longer. We also hope to see you off the golf course – next door at our Mežaparka Rezidences.”
Information:
The project Mežaparka Rezidences is one the largest real estate projects in Riga, spanning 31 hectares. The designer, architect Andris Kronbergs, has successfully combined the existing Mežaparks structures with modern design and comfort. Each building has been designed by award-winning Latvian architects. The concept includes exclusive villas, twin villas, row houses and low-rise apartment buildings with premium class apartment designs. Individual plots of land are also available. Ozo Golf Club is the first 18-hole golf course in Latvia with a total drive length of 6400 m. It is surprising in its variety, thanks to designer Rob Swedberg, who was inspired by the mountains of his native Denver (USA) when he created 16 ponds and 50 sand traps along the wide shores of Ķīšezers. In 2005, this sport centre gained national status and became the main centre for golf lessons and training. Ozo Golf Club hosts many national and international golf tournaments.
